Long Term Alcohol Treatment Centers
Our long term alcohol treatment centers Intake specialists use American society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and placement guidelines in determining not only length of stay, but also what level of treatment to place you on. Those assessed to a residential level of care would be placed on an ASAM 3.5 level of care, which is a medically managed inpatient level.
Inpatient provides the patient with 24-hour care with trained counselors to stabilize any drug or alcohol withdrawals, mental health issues and prepare for outpatient treatment. Our long term alcohol treatment centers typically lasts from 30-90 days. This depends on your unique experiences as well as your financial and insurance situations.
An inpatient level of care provides orientation groups or individual sessions that provide education to new residential patients. Included in this orientation process is education on program policy, medical issues and addiction/recovery information are provided within the first few days upon entering our programs.
Each patient will also participate in Case Management and will have an individual counselor who will be utilizing Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs to ensure patients have basic needs met before attempting to engage in the therapeutic process. This will take place within the first week of entering into our long term alcohol treatment center. It is not uncommon for patients.
If you are already on, or being evaluated for withdrawal medications, our medical staff will meet with you to make sure you understand alcohol withdrawals, opiate withdrawals, tobacco withdrawals and other types of withdrawals not requiring medication. It is not uncommon for our clients to be dually addicted to several substances at once, and there are non-addicting medications that can assist with things like sleeping, appetite, anxiety and depression.
Residents will attend Thursday night Family Night if clinically appropriate. Research shows that family and “significant other” involvement is key to remaining substance free when returning to your family and community.
Telephone and Visitation:
There are no direct incoming calls to patients. Family contact is made through case manager or a message is left with our receptionist for a return call. There are no calls allowed for the first 72hrs. Visitation is scheduled through your case manager only (visiting based on level of care).
Long Term Alcohol Treatment Centers Groups:
Therapeutic process groups, especially those in our long term alcohol treatment centers in Eagle Mountain are an essential part of treatment. In these groups you will learn about your addictions, what may be driving those addictions and how to cope with life in sobriety. It is a basic philosophy of treatment that helping others helps the patient help themselves. It is often easier and safer to recognize thinking errors, resistance and other maladaptive coping skills in others before ourselves. To this end, group therapy becomes “your” group.
Our facilitators within our long term alcohol treatment centers are skilled in gently guiding the group simply to keep it on track but the patients are responsible for the content of the group. The other groups you will attend are Psycho-educational groups, a group with planned topics, provides education about your addiction(s). We also provide individual therapy to address those mental health issues that are driving the addictions.
